Small 'super'center. Just the basics of most things. Most of the meat and produce is a better quality and price at Fareway.
What happened to customer training and knowledge. Especially in the electronics department? No one can answer a single question about the computers or anything these days. All I wanted at this Wal-Mart (other's in tge past years too) was know how much RAM, GB, processor make and speed were on the laptops since the product cards were either missing or did not contain ANY of this info. Really?! The area below is locked for a reason yes, but they put up a black sheet so you can not even see the boxes to see the specs. Or to secure an empty box above the product or print out the specs to put in a plastic sleeve above the item - wouldn't that make a little sense? That's a really dumb idea to hide the products with a black sheet below since no one has a key to open it up unless you want to wait 15 minutes for a manager.
If you buy a PC especially HP, note the warranty is only 90 days! They are cruddy computers, so pay for the extended warranty as I have needed it on every HP I bought for the past 8 years. At least if they had a working internet you could use in the store to research the item that wouldn't require all associates to go thru extra training.
No tire center here. Small electronics and small pretty much every other dept.
Fine for one stop shopping of basic stuff.
First nothing against this particular store bu t note the new return policy. I think it's 30 or 60 days no matter what! Even if unopened and you have the receipt - even if broken or items missing from the package. So seasonal clearance items are not a bargain if you don't test them right away. i.e. something like a power washer, grill, tiller, etc bought in Iowa in the winter...how can you test some items. I opened a free standing portable cooker and 3/4 of the parts were missing was my recent issue on top of many more. So much for a bargain - rather a huge price for a worthless couple of parts only. I know better for the future... do NOT buy at all.
Don't go around 4am. I went before work and the lane shut down as I was checking out. They told me the system updates everyday at 4am and can take between 20 min to 2 hours!
I have so manly suggestions for Corporate Wal-Mart to save money, retain a buyer from going elsewhere to purchase plus retain customers/employees. My list of simple suggestions would blow their mind. I can't believe this company has owners who are on the Forbes Richest list with how terrible the stores all over have become.
They build 30 checkstands, and only open two of them. Then, a 15 min. wait for Self-Check, while three employees stand around next to it, doing... well... nothing. Store is reasonably clean and well stocked, but good luck getting a human being to help you find or do anything.
I asked why they didn't put a sign on the door saying that, since they knew they couldn't sell anything at that time. I got a blank look.
Food at ALL Wal-Mart's is overpriced in this area compared to Fareway and HyVee. Don't let that Savings Catcher App fool you - it misses a ton of item's every time. Wal-Mart Customer service makes you give them so much detail that it makes your time not worth the effort to dispute. They really don't have sales like the grocery stores, so if all you need is groceries DO NOT go here. You will pay low prices on some home good items, but your quality is reflected by it.
